I was so excited and we immediately started planning their engagement session.
And then mother nature was a crab apple all summer.
We rescheduled…. and then rescheduled again.
and then again.
and then one more time.
We HAD to have the perfect light. I was adamant about the vision we had.
So we picked the next date on the calendar and did our *NO RAIN* dances and it worked because the weather was perfect. BUT THEN.. we realized it was the Thursday before 4th of July weekend and even though we left 2 hours earlier to try and beat traffic… traffic beat us instead. We sat for 2 and half hours wondering if we would make it to Michigan State with enough time to make all this magic we wanted to make. I drove like a mad woman and we made it there with just the right amount of time. We jumped out of the car and looked at their perfect pretty faces and said “Okay! no time for nerves, look alive! hands all over each other for the next 2 hours!”
they ROCKED . IT . OUT
We had an absolute blast. I know I say that all the time, but this was on a whole other level. I was behind my camera in total awe of how natural they were, how in love, how fun and playful. Even while being eaten alive by the worst swarms of mosquitos I had ever experienced, they didn’t lose their spark, not once. I felt like I was photographing two people who were in their first month of dating, and THAT is rare and oh so wonderful.
If you couldn’t already tell, I am slightly excited to share Garrett and Kaitlyn’s INCREDIBLE engagement session with you. Try to peel your eye’s off of them, I challenge you.
Rob’s shot.. one of my favorites
While Rob was creating this gorgeousness….
I was over here… documenting all this love from a different view. They got the full Rob and Rach dream team treatment 😉
GAHHHHH. This light, that smirk, those adorable stripes. GET OUT!
You all know how much I love when my clients bring their fur babies to their session! Meet Gizmo and Gadget.. they are big Spartan fans as well.
G + K – Thank you for choosing me. For choosing Rob and I both to be a part of this chapter of yours. We feel so incredibly lucky to be the ones to capture it for you. Of all the things that went wrong leading up to this day would have made most couples frustrated, annoyed, and nervous. Not you guys. The rescheduling, the constant bad weather, the traffic, the bugs, the mosquito bites.. and look at the day we had. It was perfect BECAUSE of you and your fantastic attitudes and spontaneity. I thank you for going with the flow and trusting me every step of the way and I couldn’t be happier that you’re just as in love with your images as I am. I can’t wait for your wedding day.
